In response to the crisis caused by COVID-19, several websites and online platforms allowed partial or complete public access to its contents free of charge. Normally, these websites would only allow access based on paid periodic subscriptions or individual purchasing. Some of these subscriptions are worth thousands of $$.
So here’s a list of these websites for our readers, to be updated regularly as other websites join the campaign!
1. Jus Mundi
This search engine for International Law and Arbitration decided to allow free access to all of its publications for everyone until 30 April, 2020.

2. RedShelf
This website which provides access to eBooks decided to grant free access in cooperation with its publishing partners to all students because of the crisis caused by COVID-19.

3. Harvard Business Review
This website decided to allow free subscriptions for the Reading Marathon Program, which includes sending articles and videos on a daily basis that were restricted to subscribers, in order to improve reading skills as part of the daily program for individuals and companies.

4. Amazon
Now you no longer need to subscribe to get access to audiobooks for children and young adults, as well as to some works from classic literature. Now it’s all free.

5. Oxford University Press
This Oxford University website usually provides paid access to articles and scientific research material in various fields. Now, the website allows free access to heaps of online material FOR FREE!

6. Al-Jazeera Center for Studies
Al-Jazeera Center for Studies has now decided to offer more than 100 of its Arabic books for free.

7. Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies
The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies decided now to make available all of its scientific periodicals, which include a large number of research, studies and book reviews, for free download to the community of researchers and those interested in the social and human sciences.

Dar AlMandumah has now allowed access to its databases containing magazines, research and articles for researchers for free access but no downloads.

9. Namaa Academy for the Humanities and Islamic Sciences
The Academy has launched its #StayAtHome initiative in Arabic by allowing free registration to its 4 online diploma degrees, available in ARABIC. These are: Diploma of Islamic Sciences, Humanities, Philosophy and Research Methods, Language, and Communications and Translation.

11. Alexandria Library
A library located in Alexandria/Egypt. It has been temporarily closed due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) but its books are now available for free download as PDF files.

1. The New England Journal of Medicine
This is a medical journal that provides a collection of articles and scientific sources for clinical reports, management plans, and extensively detailed commentary based on paid subscriptions.
All articles related to Covid-19 are published on the magazine’s website and are available to all visitors free of charge.
