Monia Ammar

Mrs. Monia Ammar is a Tunisian judge. Currently, Magistrate counselor at the Court of Cassation and teacher at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary. In 2014, she was appointed as Regional Coordinator (MENA) of IHL at the ICRC regional office in Cairo / Egypt. In 2010, she was elected as the head of the Arab Women IHL committee in the Arab Woman Organization. In 2007, she was elected Chair of the Arab Independent Experts’ Commission in the League of Arab States. Mrs. Monia Ammar is also the head of the Arab Center for International law in Tunisia that was founded in 2019.
As an expert in international law, especially international human rights law and international humanitarian law, Ms. Monia Ammar is considered as an expert and trainer in several disciplines related to Human Rights, IHL, women’s rights, labor rights, HRBA & RBM.
